Kinser Family Blog

A blog about the family of Aaron and Jensine Kinser. There is no purpose for this blog other than giving you a view inside our lives and our heads (as scary as that may be).

Halloween Highlights

Hooray! I'm finally posting pictures from Halloween. They've been on my phone, and some are still on Aaron's mom's camera... (Aaron had our camera for the shindig in Minnesota...getting official and all that jazz) but here we go.

I made them their costumes this year. In part because it was cheaper, and also in part because they aren't old enough to complain that their costumes are homemade... I am not the mom, at this point anyway, that can make absolutely amazing costumes. My hat's off to those who can. But as I have no pretensions about my skills, it was nice that the boys loved (and continue to love) their costumes as much as they did. I love having a two year old and an 19 month old as critics :)

Austin as our cookie monster. His FAVORITE Sesame Street character. In part I think because of how much Cookie Monster loves food...rather like this little monster...

Isaac as an aligator. He was thrilled to wear this hat and tail. He liked getting into the personna of an aligator...roaring at people, but thankfully not biting them.
The boys on stage at the Ward Halloween party.

The ward Halloween party was a little crazy, but a lot of fun. More people were there than I expected, and I think it threw the boys for a loop at first. But once the trunk or treat started, they were all for it. We would go car to car and Isaac would say "Trick or Treat!!" and then Austin would say "Thank you!". They were both so thrilled that all they had to do was say some words and people gave them candy. What's been entertaining since Halloween has been when Austin has wanted something from Isaac and Isaac will say "Austin, say trick or treat!" And so Halloween lives on. :)

"C" is for Carving...

So, we decided to carve a pumpkin this year that our boys would appreciate. To say that they appreciate the jack-o-lantern is somewhat of an understatement. Austin kept saying "Cookie! Cookie! Cookie!" Isaac also loved it and after we put it on top of the bookshelf, he said, "Jump down, Cookie Monster! Jump down!" Here it is:

Swingin' n' Singin' Isaac and a Two-Year Old Austin

So, nothing too exciting has been up with us lately, but there are a few cute moments and stories that we decided to tell.

Isaac's Swingin' n' Singin'

Isaac loves singing. In particular, he loves to swing on the Gazelle that my parents have when doing it. He will swing back and forth, singing at the top of his lungs numerous times in a day. He has even mastered the switch from one foot to two and back mid-swing. Here is a sample of this little tradition of his.

Austin Thinks He's Older Than He Is

Apparently, Austin thinks he is much older than he is (though his size may support his theory). Whenever we go to the store, Isaac and Austin take up the bumpers on the shopping cart. Isaac only learned to do this a few months ago, but Austin has now decided that he is also old enough to do it. They both do a good job and hold on for quite a long time.

Austin also likes all kinds of vehicles, now. Just like his brother.

Daddy "Going to Work"

In case some of you don't know, I am working for KCB Towers, a steel fabrication and erection company. I have spent some time at some job sites and need a hard hat, tape measure, and gloves. I put all of these things on Isaac the other night and he proceeded to "go to work."

Apparently, this is what he thinks I do at work all day.

Jensine and Isaac Make a Sock Puppet

Jensine and Isaac made an alligator/crocodile sock puppet this past week and Isaac loves it. He liked to put the puppet and pick at my hands and feet to "get all the bugs off." I had no idea I had so many bugs on me.

BYU @ SDSU

Since we were down here, we decided to go see the BYU game at San Diego State. It was not a pretty game, but it was fun to be able to go and see the Cougars pull out a win. (I will pretend this past weekend never happened.)
